DORUK GENCER

After graduating from TED Ankara College and Middle East Technical University, Doruk began his banking career at Koçbank in 1993. 

 

After gaining approximately 1.5 years of experience, Doruk enrolled in the Master’s Program in Business Administration at Bilkent University. Upon completing this program in 1997, he joined the Interbank Management Trainee program in 1996.

 

During his four years at Interbank, he worked in the Corporate and Commercial Banking division. After completing his military service in 2000, he joined Garanti Bank, now a subsidiary of BBVA Group and began working at the Bank’s Ankara Corporate Branch. During his tenure at Garanti, which he concluded as Branch Manager over the final 8 years, he held the positions of Corporate Banking Manager, Regional Credit Manager, and Branch Manager in succession. 

 

During his time at Garanti Bank, he served as a coach and mentor to the Bank’s Management Trainee candidates. 

 

In 2012, he served as Branch Manager at ING Bank’s Yenişehir Branch; shortly thereafter, he assumed the role of Corporate and Commercial Banking Group Manager at OdeaBank’s Ankara Corporate Branch. 

 

During his tenure at OdeaBank, he taught the “Marketing in Banking” course as part of the TOBB Executive MBA Program at Başkent University for two terms, with the Bank’s approval. 

 

In 2014, again with the bank’s approval, he took on the role of Country Manager for Turkey at the Czech-based company esports.cz. As part of a one-year project, he established a nationwide team of 30 people to execute the live blog broadcast project for the Turkish Basketball League and provided their training. 

 

In 2017, he was appointed as Group Manager. Ib this role, he was  responsible for Restructuring and Non-Performing Loans within the Corporate and Commercial Banking Division at Odeabank Headquarters. 

 

In 2021, he began working as a Senior Manager in the Credit Allocation and Non-Performing Loans departments at the U.S.-based firm World Business Lenders LLC and served on the company’s Management Committee. During his tenure at this institution, he contributed to the company’s process improvements and training design initiatives. Since 2025, he has been conducting training programs with Arma Learning and Consulting Solutions Ltd. 

 

Gencer, who is currently a member of the Turkish Education Association, the TED Ankara College Alumni Association, and a member of the Supervisory Board of the TED Ankara College Sports Club, is the father of 15-year-old Demir.
